Introduction

Country-Wide Coverage:

SMS is the only security services company with operational facilities in 19 major cities of Pakistani (Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Quetta, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sahiwal, Abbottabad, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujrat, Jhelum, Peshawar and Mardan), and 24-hour operational Local Offices, Back-up Support Teams and Relief Guards. SMS also operated own support offices in Wah, Rawalakot, Muzaffarabad and Mirpur (AK). This network enabled SMS in providing extensive coverage for security and commensurate liaison.

SMS currently operates three Regions in the country. These are:

South Region based at Karachi – Sindh and Balochistan

Central Region based at Lahore – Punjab

North Region based at Islamabad – some areas of Punjab from Jhelum upwards, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northern Areas, Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

No other security services company in Pakistan employed as many former Army, Police and Civil Services Officers, trained in security work, on its Board of Directors and other management positions.

In November 1999 SMS became the FIRST & ONLY private security services company in Pakistan which achieved ISO 9001:1994Quality Standard Certification and then in November 2001 to successfully convert to the new ISO 9001:2000 Standard.

Management 

Ikram Sehgal

Co-Chairman

Ikram Sehgal is the Chairman of Pathfinder Group. He is a Pakistani defence analyst and security expert. He is a retired Pakistan Army officer.

Ikram Sehgal completed Senior Cambridge and FSc from Lawrence College, Ghoragali. He attended Murari Chand (MC) College, Sylhet and Notre Dame College, Dhaka before graduating from Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Kakul. Commissioned into 2E Bengal (Junior Tigers) in Oct 1965, the infantry unit his father raised in 1949, he served in Army Aviation (fixed wing and Helicopter Pilot) from 1968 to 1971. Taken PW in April 1971, in then East Pakistan, he was the first Pakistani PW to escape from India in July 1971. Joining 44 Punjab (now 4 Sindh) in Nov 1971, he was given battlefield promotion to the rank of Major on Dec 13, 1971, leaving the Army on Jan 24, 1974. He worked as a commercial pilot before starting his own business in 1977.

He set up a business in 1977, specializing in trading and counter trade. He is currently Chairman, Pathfinder Group Pakistan, which includes two of the country’s largest private security companies. Sehgal is also involved in national and international organizations. He is a Member of the World Economic Forum (WEF); International Organization for Migration (IOM); Director, East West Institute (EWI), a US-based think-tank; and Member, WEF Global Agenda Council (GAC) for counter-terrorism. A regular columnist in the print media since 1987, he graduated to his own TV Talk Show. He appears regularly on current affairs programs on television as a ‘defense and security analyst’.

Zarrar Sehgal

Chairman

Mr. Zarrar Sehgal is Co Chairman of Pathfinder Group. Zarrar has expertise in financings involving aircraft and has worked on several of the most significant securitizations and financings in the market, including many transactions that have been awarded ‘Deal of the Year’ awards from industry publications. Zarrar Sehgal, head of the Banking and Finance practice area at Clifford Chance, has joined the American Pakistan Foundation board of directors.

He is a partner in Clifford Chance’s US Finance and Restructuring Group, and Asset Finance Practice Co-Head. Sehgal is also the Clifford Chance’s Transport & Logistics sector group Global Head. He has extensive experience representing underwriters, lenders, lessors, and governmental agencies in a wide variety of asset and structured finance transactions.

Sehgal focuses his practice on a wide variety of international finance transactions, including acquisition financing, leveraged leasing, secured lending, structured financing, export credit agency-supported financings, and credit enhancements. He also has extensive experience representing underwriters and issuers in public offerings and private placement of securities, including portfolio securitizations, debt and equity offerings.

Sehgal has served on the Board of The Citizens Foundation-USA (TCF-USA), which is a USA based non-profit that has been supporting the education of underprivileged children since 2008. He has served as TCF-USA President since 2010.  Sehgal was also selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He hosts the annual Pakistan breakfast at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

He received his under graduate degree from Boston University, a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and is a member of the bar in the State of New York.

Lt Col (Retd) Syed Hassan Raza 

COO

Lt Col (R) Syed Hassan Raza, has a distinguished career in the military. Through his tenure, he earned accolades for his exceptional achievements, amongst the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) award.

He has over 25 years of experience in the security industry and possess a strong background in driving innovation in physical security and risk assessment. He also performed role as a vital observer and liaison between military contingent and UN Missions in DR Congo. His strategic advice and support on security matters contributed tin successful execution of UN operations in the Region.

After retirement, he was appointed Director Administration at an Isolation Hospital and Infectious Diseases Treatment Center. This was first state-of-art COVID hospital in Pakistan. With his leadership, the hospital successfully navigated challenges of pandemic and provided much needed care to affected ones.
He is currently serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Security and Management Services (SMS), Member Company of Pathfinder Group.

Lt Col (R) Ashiq Hussain Malik

Advisor to Chairman

Lt Col (R) Ashiq Hussain Malik joined SMS in January 2005. He remained MD Cash in Transit, MD Guarding Division part of Wackenhut Pakistan. He then become CEO Wackenhut followed by Group Executive Director and COO SMS. Presently he is serving as Advisor to the Chairman Pathfinder Group. He is an expert of conducting internal and external audit. He has possessed excellent management and leadership skills.
